CPU Fan direction

    Quick question. I"m installing a heat sink fan. Should it blow cool air onto the heat sink or suck hot air off?

    You'll get more airflow at the base of your heatsink if the fan is blowing towards the heatsink. You will need to add a shroud if you want it blowing away so that air can only enter near the base of the heatsink. This needs to be carefully designed so that you maximize airflow around the heatsink.

    I agree with musksnipe, due to aerodynamics most fans can push more air against a resistance than they can pull it through the same resistance(your Heat sink)
