cpu pin set# find

I have a dell inpspiron 4000, 01", 700mhz, 512mb. Wnat to upgrade to a 1gb cpu, but just cant find the pin set # to order the part needed. Any suggestion will help.

 

First off, you need to find out if the MB in your 4000 will even accept a higher CPU. I did some searching, and the best I could come up with in upgrading your CPU is an Intel 850. In all honesty, that really wouldn't be worth your time, effort or money since you are already using a 700. There would be no noticeable speed increase, if any.

 

Jeez man, that's a 478 socket and is some 8 years old. As Stubby says, it ain't really worth it, nobody sells them and they're not even worth putting up on E-bay. I have a 1GHz Celeron sitting around somewhere but really, I'd keep your cash in your pocket. You will not see a dramatic increase.

Don'd waste your time upgrading ,cos it's toooooooooooooo old.Save the money for better one.
