cpu...raid....help!

ok i want to create an aray of computers i want 4: 2 ghz pcs networked together and i want them to work together like one big 8 ghz pc like some sort of network processing raid.... i need help

What you want to do is possible. But it's extremly hard and I doubt you'll manage it. You're going to be basicly on your own since very few people do it. It's an expensive thing to even consider and since it's so expensive the few people who could help with it most likely won't be offering their services for free.

Simply put what you're looking to do is create a computer cluster. In your case you're looking to create a really cluster but that doesn't mean it's going to be much easier. Just research it on google is your best bet. You've got an extremly small chance any anyone here giving you more then that. There are a few programs on the market that cost upwards of a grand that help to do this, but I don't know their names off hand, you'd have to check google again.

From the little I know about it creating a small two computer cluster would be very wasteful.

Actually, now that I think about it more you may want to simply look into getting a dual processor or quad processor server board. It would be a little eaiser to setup since the baord would be designed for this. Although still very expensive it's going to be cheaper then trying to build a cluster.

These are not all clustered together, this basically a rendering box.

So, essentially you have to have software to support this. When I noticed the switch that was installed, I reallized that this probably is just 5 machines that are networked together and just use the above programs to have each machine render the information.
