Win 7 64 bit. Installed VMWare virtual Windows7 but very rarely running. Should I follow malware removal instructions or is there anything else I should do first.

I also get system event warning about "unrecognized usb driver" , source "hcmon".

Should I uninstall the VMWare first........or not. I suspect that the culprit might be one of the programs installed in VMWare.

Yes go ahead and uninstall it.

This is the nightmare scenario. I had soooooo much trouble installing this that I am loathe to uninstall it unless it is absolutely necessary. I seem to remember that the installation involved some disk allocation that I am not expert enough to undo without some assistance.

If you can walk me thru the entire process of uninstallation, then that would be much appreciated.

Meantime, I have already uninstalled what i think is the culprit program in the virtual machine. If I could leave XP intact without compromising the debugging process then that would be appreciated.

If you believe that a uninstall of VMWare is absolutely necessary before beginning the cleaning process, then that is what I shall do after hearing back from you.

If VMWare removal is vital, then please advise on what to do as far as disk allocation is concerned.

    Thank you,

Don't worry about uninstalling VMWare then... just continue on with the instructions. ;)

Too late. I uninstalled it already using control panel. Is there something I have to do now about disk allocation. I remember I had to allocate some space in order to create the VM. I forgot where I have to go in order to undo it.
