cpu shut down by itself and doesn't rise again...

Last night while I was using my computer, it power off by itself suddenly. After that I am unable to use my computer at all. When I switch on my pc, only the "HDD" light is on, but not the "POWER" light. Now I am unsure what to do. I done a small googling but I'm not sure if cleaning the fan will help it. I need more help/advice before proceeding to the next step. Thank you.

I am sorry to say it sounds like your Power Supply Unit has died. Cleaning the PC won't hurt it and is a good thing to do. Do the fans work when you turn it on? If so, make sure all of them are working, especially the one on the CPU heatsink.

Maybe you have an extra PSU laying around or have a friend who has one you can try in your PC.
