anytime i run any program my cpu usage goes to 100 %. I have done all the steps to make sure my computer is spyware and virus free. Most of the programs i run are games and only one program at a time.

To rule out Malware as your problem, please follow the below instructions.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Download HijackThis 1.99.1

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifBefore running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gifRun HijackThis and save your log file.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post as it will be removed).

Scan with HJT and have it fix the below entries:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = :0

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

    O16 - DPF: {01118400-3E00-11D2-8470-0060089874ED} (SdcNetCheckCtl Class) - http://activex.microsoft.com/objects/ocget.dll

Your log is fairly clean, one thing I want to ask. Do you use anything called Macrovision?

Generate a StartupList log using HijackThis.
Run HJT and on the first screen, click the button that says "Open the Misc Tools section". In the next window first select "List also minor sections (full)" and then click the button that says "Generate StartupList log". CLick Yes to the Do you want to continue prompt. Now a notepad window will come up with the Startuplist.txt file. It is already saved in the the directory HJT is running from. So just come back here and upload the file as an attachment to your next message.

Your logs look clean to me, if you dont use any Macrovision software there isnt a need for this service.

Click Start > Run > type services.msc and Click OK

Locate InstallDriver Table Manager (IDriverT) and RightClick on it to bring up the Service Properties Window.
First: Stop the service by clicking the Stop Button.
Next: Disable it by changing the Startup Type to Disabled and click Apply

After you complete the above, reboot and Run CCleaner to clean up cookies and temp files.

Then let me know if your still having the problem.

Okay, I want you to do something for me. Press CONTROL + SHIFT + ESC. This will open Task Manager, click on Processes and then click on CPU to arrange by usage.

Now note the ones that have the highest number and post them back to me.

Whenever i run any programs, my cpu usage is at 100% and i dont know why.

Its normal when the program first opens but it should return to normal. System Idle Process is normal to be 99%.

Does the program your running peak at 100% or what?
