cpu usage

whe i first got my laptop one of the setup options was about cpu usage, it asked if i wanted my cpu usage to be optimal or aggressive, how do i get to that option because i can't remember how i did it last time. thanks.robbo26

Sounds specific to your laptop not Windows. There is one Windows settings:

Start, Control Panel, Performance Information and Tools, Advanced Tools, Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

Optionally click Start and type in "Adjust the" until you see Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

From here you can can set processor resources to Programs or background services. Also under Control Panel, Performance Information and Tools, Advanced Tools you can find a lot of other tweaks if thats what you are after.

Most laptops have Power Saving Options that ask questions about CPU Performance. That's probably what your recalling. As MA said though, to access the option would be specific to the make model of the laptop.

Most Lenovos run the Phoenix BIOS, accessed by 'F1' or 'F11' (press these buttons on startup, before Windows loads) - once in the setup, you should be able to find the CPU settings...

I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to: Control Panel/Performance Information and Tools then in the left column, click on Adjust Power Settings.
