CPU usage

Ok one more question .....i can hear my heard drive wizzzin away and when i check my task manager it shows only 26-27 processes running. (It's a Dell 5150 with a 3.0 HT and a 160 HD.) It allways has at least 2-7% cpu usage at idle anytime of the day. My brother has the same comp that has 49-55 processes going and it stays a 0-1% at idle?? I've done all kinds of spyware and virus scans and looked in the REG at the Run section ans msconfig to see whats going on. Nothing out of the ordinary. Right now it's showing 4-7% , with 27 processes. Any way to see if there are any "hidden" things going on??

 

Do you have a lot of program running on your taskbar on the right side just beside the clock those are program when you start your computer they start
to me i only have my anti-virus and that's it...

My i have 24 process and i am at 0 and 1 %.
