Found this program here in the download sections. I installed it, and turned the "cooling" feature on and set it to use the "regluar registers" or something like that, I can't remember, the PC is miles away from me ATM. Anyways, I didn't muck around with any other settings.

Anyways, without this "cooling" running, at idle the CPU is about 48c. With the "cooling" feature running, it claims it's 34c-35c. I don't have any panels on the case as of yet, no case fans, just the CPU fan (volcano 10, I believe). It's an Athlon XP 3200+ Barton, not o/c'd (considering it, though), on a A7V600-X board. It physically feels cooler with this thing running, but it may just be all in my head.

Anyone have an opinion on this program? I haven't tested anything at full load yet (haven't had the chance).

Given the info and temps I've provided above, should I be concerned with the temps?

if its the one i think it is then its a UNDERCLOCKING program i and wouldnt be over clocking it with out the whole case being loaded with fans

if you look at my sig then you can understand what i mean i am not worryed about noise just lack of it do to cpu being burnt i had happen once and never agen will i have it happen if i can help it

    48C is 118F

35C is 95F thats a good temp for idle mine is about the same its a 2200+ but i have seen them run alot hotter then 3000+ -3200+ CPUs

my amd 2200+ xp runs about 102 -107 idle with the room being about 85-90

but what matters is full load

i dont like 118 as a fullload i like it about 111 -116 but that me

    Opps

To answer the original topic question. Those programs are not intended to cool down the CPU as much as they are intended to slow it down at idle times, so that it's not using as much power, hence they would tend to be cooler. I believe it's something like the step down technology Intel uses on some of it's mobile chips. I could be wrong.

    Welcome to the boards.

If you're thinking of overclocking then yes i agree with the others, at least 2 case fans would see better results, don't worry about water cooling unless you intend to overclock loads of things, but thats another story!

so 16 fans in your case??? that's just crazy compared to my 5, 3 80mm, 1 120mm and a cpu fan!!!!!!!!!!
    why you got so many???!!!!????!!!!

    lol guys are funny

well i burnt up my 1800+ amd cpu and 4600 melted one time do to heat and i didnt overclock anything

suesman said:Jeeze man slap some wings on that puppy & you could fly fer sure. lol :
well it sounds like a jet so i think a mite just do that [its realy not that loud not as loud as some think it should be lol]

i just like to keep the system cool and the more fans the better

the 6 -60s are harddrive coolers and card coolers [2 coolers 2 fans in each] then the FX 5700 Ultra has 2 fans on it and a pci card coolers below it

the 80s 2 in front 2 in back 1 in PSU 1 in side panel and 1 in bottom of case

    the cpu fan 92mm

and the 2 120s 1 in blowhole in top of case and 1 in PSU

    lol

i put 2200$ in the system just want to make sure it last along lol [upgrade as i made it it was custom bulit and then i recased it and took it abit to far some say [they also talk of lag when there pc gets hot lol

and notthing is overclocked other then the 5700 its running at 525core and ram 1050 [i dont get the lag others talk about when there system has been in the game for more then 2 hours i play for a long time when i play and my pc stays cool the whole time]

thanks for asking guys it was nice to have someone other then my friends jokeing about the guy with the chains holding down his pc or the man with anuff fans to raise a battle ship out of the water lol

and i know what you mean about fighting to make stuff fit i installed my 5700U 128 and its 9 1/2 long lol had to rewire the case and move the hard drives lol in my demon that is

i had one guy that wanted to put the same card in his pc and this case was small as can be about 13 long 6 wide lol the card wouldnt fit at all in till he cut the hard bays out for it to fit lol it was a trip his pc looks like a junkyard of a pc case lol harddrives hanging out he has 4 of them and then powerpack is ontop of the case i mean a real mess and he has alkinds of cooling proplems lol cpu harddrives GPU is abit hot at 130 F cpu is covered in wires i and wires are all over this case the cpu temp is only 140F and its a 1.2 ghz lol [ all i have to say is it HIS pc not mine ]
