It is an Acer AspireOne (ZG5).

Local computer repair store said they could probably source it for $100, but they won't know for sure until they can actually find it. No idea what their replacement charge (labor+expertise) would cost on top of the part...

Does anyone have any idea where I could find one of these myself?

I've already tried both NewEgg and TigerDirect, but no luck:
As you can see with ordered-by-price-low-to-high browsing, they jump straight from accessories (like protective cases, oh the irony...) to brand new units.

    Using the following Google searches:
    • netbook screen replacement
    • acer netbook screen replacement
I was able to find the following two sites:
I was just wondering if the gurus here at Major Geeks had any further/other suggestions. :)

    Thanks in advance.

ZOMG, that's it... that's it, exactly! Thank you so much!

I didn't even think to check eBay... I've had an account for at least seven years (IIRC), but I don't believe I've ever actually purchased anything off of there.

Do you guys think I should "provide the part" to the local computer store and let them do the labor, or do y'all think I can do this myself?

    Finally getting around to this...

Found them for $109 at LaptopLCDStore, where it gives the screen resolution as 1024x600.

Also found three different models (from $75-$81) at LCDs4Less, where it also gives the screen resolution as 1024x600.

Also found four results for the search "zg5" at LaptopScreen, three of which were for Acer products, all with a screen resolution of 1024x600:

Searching eBay, I found a screen for $25+$12 s&h ($37 total) from a 99.7% seller (pcpartsaustin). It gave a model number of B089AW01 in the description ("ACER ASPIRE ONE ZG5 8.9" LCD SCREEN B089AW01 GRADE A+"), but no resolution is listed.

When I took that model number and searched for it, I found a couple other screens: an LED panel, and an LCD panel.

Each are $24 with $9 s&h ($33 total). Interestingly, however, the resolution is listed as 1024 x 800 for each of them.

I like the price, but am worried about the resolution discrepancy... will these work with my existing drivers, or will I need to locate different drivers for this resolution? Should this even be a concern? Will this even work?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hello. I have a similar problem, so I thought I would post here.

I have an eMachines netbook (eM250-1915) with a broken screen. I found a compatible replacement screen at geeks.com for $59.

My question is this: I have read in a few guides that you must replace the inverter board as well as the screen. Others say that you don't have to. How do you know if you need to or not? And if you do, where can you get them at?

Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.
