my sister's computer crashed again. the computer said the error was with something called ntskrnl.exe
the computer has a habit of overheating (trying to solve) and last time it booted up to the desktop a trail registery cleaner program by winferno came up and froze the computer before it crashed again.
those are just about all the specifics that i can think of.

how might i go about fixing the problem

    hoping for some suggestions

Go into safe mode, and uninstall the registry cleaner.
ntskrnl.exe , appears to be screen related file.
It is possible that using a registry cleaner that the file has been corrupted, or, deleted.
I am assuming this is XP, and , if so, I feel your best solution is to click start, run , and type in
    sfc /scannow
    Note the space after sfc
A small box will come up, and you will see a line filling very slowly.
Put the XP disk in the drive, and keep clicking retry , as it will come up many times , and wait until the check finishes - it replaces corrupt files, as it goes, and can take up to an hour, if a lot of files need replacing.
