Best option press F8 whilst booting and choose safe mode. This may seem to hang and take a long time (up to an hour) to finish booting but is worth it if you can get there.

In my computer (explorer) right click on th hard drive & choose properties
On the tools tab click check now and then tick the fix errors boxes
    click start
If the system says it needs to do this on next reboot click OK and reboot, normally

If you can't get to safemode but can boot to the command prompt
    typein
    chkdsk c: /f

    and reboot when finished.

    If this does not work
    At the F8 choice screen
Choose disable automatic restart on system failure
Post the error message the system halts at.
Also post any software/ updates you may have been installing before failure

Let us know how you get on

    Good luck

thanks, for the reply. it was the HDD. I was able to get into the startup menu
and saw the HDD was running at 2500 kinda slow. I took it in to get a new HDD installed.

    thanks again, Sas

Yeah I just noted somewhere else that hardware can fail too, life's like that.

Sorry we couldn't help on this occasion, but thanks for letting us know it's so much nicer than never hearing again.
