Creating A Virtual Print To File Printer In A Wireless Network.

Hello,
I have a wireless Brother printer in a small network (PC, printer, tp-link router+access point). I can print without any problem. But I can't print to file. I have tried all combinations available ports and connections. How can I create a virtual printer capable of printing to file. I am stuck, I will appreciate your replies and inputs very much.

FastStone is an image processing software. Several offerings. Their Screen Capture can be use in all kinds of situations with a 'right click'. It is a 'shareware' 19$. I think the file type plays a role in this. For example, when I view a .pdf or .docx (Word document), I am not given the option to print to file. But if I create a .txt file with Notepad I see a window like this where I can check the option to Print to file.

 

In the 'other' thread that @Eldon highlights, the op is interested in saving as jpg due to fonts or colors or some such. It would be helpful if the op stated more specifics here.

My printer is Brother MFC 255CW wireless. It doesn't have Print to File option check box. During adding virtual printer, print to file port option appears but it does nothing. As I said before, printer is connected in small WiFi network.

Why do you need Print to File in a virtual printer?

 

As you know, computer displays objects according to RGB color profiles. Printers use CMYK color profiles. Eventhough some programs syncronize these two profiles during printing, some color differences may arise too. I want to make sure whether this happens, easiliy by printing my images to .jpg files. This is the point I can't do. I want the virtual printer (same driver as with the physical printer of course) to print my images to .jpg files so that I can conduct corrections easily.
It seems the situation is technologically limited. I don't want to ask on this issuue again. What's more, I have serious health problems. That's why I have been having to ask very rarely in the forums. I vould like to be a moderator in forums like you but unfortunately it hasn't been possible because of the serious health problems. Firstly, I'm not a moderator. Secondly, the misunderstanding is because of the referance to network and Wi-Fi.

If you want a virtual jpeg printer, install PDFCreator.

Pay attention during installation, and look at the settings/options. You can switch between RGB and CMYK.

FYI You cannot use a virtual printer via Wi-Fi.
