The Dell Windows XP Install CD is MIA. I need to format the drive and reinstall windows. Is there anyway to create a XP installation disk from a computer running XP.

Yeah but it's long winded, however this nice guy named Christopher Heng took the time to lay it all out :)

Try contacting Dell. Send them an email and they may be able to mail you a new CD, probably for about $4.99 at a guess.

Depending upon the age of your pc a new Dell disk may not be compatible.

Any competent tech should be able to restore XP for you for less than the cost of the disk.

Once you have reloaded Windows you will need to also load the system drivers. The good news is that you can download this disk for free from Dell.
