Hi. I have been wanted to create an online image bank (like gettyimage.com, for example) for web developers. but i'm gonna do it a little differently.
i'm going to offer my website to photographers/artists who want to sell their work. then i will post it on the web and sell it for them. the photographer will get most of the profit, but i will also take a percentage. so, i need to know the logistics behind this. i need to know all about the copyright laws, etc etc etc

does anyone know anything about this??

    thanks!

Copywrite laws are complicated. You can sell "royalty-free" images quite easily (i.e. they don't need to be processed every time they are used) provided you do give a certain ammount to the artist for each picture, and of course they declare it to be royalty free.

I would learn a server side scripting language, for sure, and be prepared to spend lots of money on hosting.

You should make a business plan really, and try and get investors (write it up right and you should be able to get some marketing companies to give you some money)

I really couldn't say : thats what you're supposed to be working out for yourself!

You could run it successuflly, I'm sure, but perhaps not profitably.

If your just starting out since there are a lot of places like what your making that host images for free, I would make it free. And then I would offer maybe premium services, and you would have to pay for those. just a suggestion.
