i have a dvd handycam and am trying to take the videos which i have downloaded onto my computer (mpeg format) and burn them onto cd's (i don't have a dvd burner) in a format which is dvd player compatible. i downloaded cdburner xp pro 3 from this site but i do not believe i can do it with this program. My questions are:

    1. is there a burner available for can do this for me

    2. what is the name of the format i need to convert these files into to be dvd player compatible

    3. would the easiest thing be to install a dvd burner in my computer

    thanks,
    an eager amateur

You just need to burn it in VCD format to play it on a DVD player. This would be an Mpeg 1 movie file.

If you were to install a DVD player later however, the movie file would need to be Mpeg 2.

VCD format is not DVD quality though, but it's passable. ;)
