Example Scenario: You have two or more Windows 7 computers in your network and all computers have joined the Homegroup that was originally created on PC #1. However, now you want to create a new Homegroup on PC #2 instead and have all computers in the network connect to the new Homegroup on PC #2.

    Complete the steps outlined below:

    1. Power down all computers in the network.
    2. Power up PC #2.
    3. Move to Control Panel/Homegroups. Select the option further below to leave the Homegroup... You will now have the option to create a new HomeGroup.
    4. Create the new Homegroup on PC #2 and notate the new Homegroup password.
    5. Next, Power up PC #1.
    6. Move to Control Panel/Homegroups. Homegroup may display a message that there is a Homegroup conflict, If this message is displayed, don't click the Join button (because you need to first remove the Homegroup that was originally created on this PC #1), instead select the option further below to leave the Homegroup... If the conflict message does not display, select the option further below to leave the Homegroup...
    7. Next, once you leave the homegroup on PC #1, select the Join button, enter the new Homegroup password that was notated from PC #2. PC #1 will now be connected to the new Homegroup on PC #2.
    8. Power up the remaining computer(s) in the network.
    9. On these computer(s), move to Control Panel/Homegroups. Homegroup may display a message that there is a Homegroup conflict, If this message is displayed, don't click the Join button (because you need to first remove the Homegroup that was originally created on PC #1), instead select the option further below to leave the Homegroup... If the conflict message does not display, select the option further below to leave the Homegroup...
    10. Next, once you leave the homegroup that was originally setup on PC #1, select the Join button, enter the new Homegroup password that was notated from PC #2. The computer will now be connected to the new Homegroup on PC #2.

*If PC #1 is or will no longer be available or used on the network, then skip steps 5,6 & 7 above.
