Creating slideshow in PowerPoint

I want to create a slideshow in Powerpoint that will run on a DVD player hooked to a TV.
What format must the presentation be saved in to burn to DVD so it will play in a DVD player?

Can Powerpoint do this?

There are three ways to put 'slide shows' onto DVDs

The first is to set each slide as a mini video loop, showing for the desired duration. This will show on all DVD players but requires a proper Video Editor to do.

The second is to create a photoCD format, the sort you can get from the local photographic processor. However not all DVD players will run this type. I didn't think Microsoft had licenced this from Kodak though.

the third is to buy, or use the free trial, of software like this.

I actually had found that program and downloaded the trial version which worked, although it took over two hours to do.

But because it's a trial it puts "Evaluation trial" on the bottom of all the slides.:cry

There are quite a few similar ppt to DVD programs but sorry I don't know of a free version you will have to weigh up if the cost is worth it too you. At least you know it works in principle.
