Creative Audio Software DLL Issues

Whenever I try to run either the Creative Support Website's Auto-Update Service, or the "Creative Software AutoUpdate" program that is installed as part of my Creative suite, the updater crashes, and I encounter this error.

CTSUEng.ocx "A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed."

This began happening after recently uninstalling and reinstalling the Creative drivers which I did because my computer was not recognizing the sound card. My sound is working for now, but I just want the updater to be functional and stop receiving this DLL error.
