    Hi,
having installed driver for my XFi Elite Pro then found the Creative Lab Media Source Player 5 exe file, and hey presto I am back to what I love from win7 but on my rebuild win10. I cannot get the sound recording from Line in 2 mic to play, or what u hear.

    mic recording is .wma

music is .wav and .mp3 and those play, but other music I have always played of type .wma refuses to play !

.wma plays in win10 own music player thing.

I want to carry on playing ALL my music , be it .wma or.mp3 or .wav as well hearing my recordings with MediaPlayer5

Why does CreativeMediaSource5 v5.10.38 now not want to play .wma when that wasnt so on win7.

I have loads of music as .wma I need to hear via it as was so a week ago when I was win7.

win10 nothing but trouble so far.

Maybe Win 10 has .wma default to its own built-in player? Have you tried going to Win Explorer, right clicking on a .wma media file, choose properties and see what it opens with - and change that to your own fave music player instead?

    Hi,
I do so, it already has the CreativeMediaSource5 icon and in properties it declares opens with CreativeMediaSource5.

Hi, I have redone the win10 build all new hardware, today I install Creative Labs XFi Elite Pro card, the the drivers and the player software.
YET AGAIN it will not play .wma, I go to explorer r/c properties and select creative labs and it doesnt play, Groove music app playe them.

I have loads of .wma I have recorded using Creative Labs, why cant it play its own recordings ? it could in win7, now I use win 10 it cannot.

Then it would appear that Groove music and not the app you want is listed as the default.
Check your default for wma again.
