My first thought was a 'Heavy Metal Rock band'.

I vote to bring some of these punishments back for those that hurt women and children....and for terrorists!

Hmmm....the Judas Cradle looks to be a real pain in the arse
and the Tongue Tearer and the Crocodile Shears wouldn't be too good either
and the last four on the list are just so gruesome

I guess you needed a strong constitution and also a strong stomach to survive back in the dark ages

@Replicator Cosby definitely +1 and to the perpetrators of violence against women and children I reckon it would be a real deterrent if they thought they would get a bit of nastiness back so +1

Sadly, the filth of society gets free accommodation, clothing, food, etc.

 

Too many do-gooders try to "rehabilitate" rather than punish the criminals. When people go to prison here it is like a holiday camp that you can't leave and many crooks do the time and say it is just a part of doing business and when they come back out often go straight back to their old ways.
Over here we let people out on bail so they can continue their violence and kill innocent people and it is a failing of the justice system.

I reckon make people so s#*t scared of their punishment if they ever go to jail, that it acts as a real deterrent. I know this doesn't work for people with mental health problems but nor does rehabilitation so I say go for the terrifying deterrent and make it compulsory for all violent crimes
Of course the opponents will say what if the courts make a mistake well I guess there are a few innocent people that have been hanged in the past but these days there is a lot less scope for errors. Others will say what if the perpetrator was on drugs or drunk and this lack of control was the cause of the violence..... well I say everyone is responsible for their actions and should be held accountable when their actions don't meet community standards or harm others

 

Don't be small minded and parochial. It would be effective for all crime. Why wait until someone is murdered? Nip it in the bud. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
