   I am Running Windows XP Home. For some reason when I shutdown, for a split second I get a pop up message and the critical message sound. The message is too fast to read. Is there a way to get this message? a log file of some sort?
   
   This will help me pin point the problem.

   you may have an entry in the event viewer ( located Control Panel > Administrative tools > Event Viewer ) which will highlight the offender.
