Cryptolocker virus

    This is a Ransomware virus that encrypts your files and demands payment for decryption key . I understand that files can not be rescued or later recovered.
    So Backup any important ones. I know you all know this but I mention anyway.
    However my real point is can anyone say whether already encrypted files can be messed with ie re-encrypted. If not then it makes sense to encrypt all important files.

    More than likely it is possible to add another layer of encryption on the original encrypted files just by using a different key length. I do not know for sure since I'm not an expert in this area but I would think it is possible and probably something the malware creators already thought about.
