CSS Problem. Many people have this problem, please help us!

Whenever i try to launch CSS, i get this popup saying:"hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Then if you click send or dont send, it makes no difference.

If you look at the data error report, it says this: "AppName: hl2.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: filesystem_steam.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00011edf"

Can any1 please help me Any help will be appreciated!

This is what you need to do.

Close steam and delete these 3 files.

Steam.dll
SteamUI.dll
ClientRegistry.Blob

These will be found under your Steam installation directory - by default, this will be C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\ (this may vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).

Log back into steam. It will update those files for you and you should be good to go.
