    Hey.
    (Yay! My First Thread!):)

Anyway, whenever I leave my laptop on standby (or just idle) I get these processes that are named as "CTV19320.exe", with various numbers at the end. These processes then activate individual processes of Internet Explorer (I use Mozilla Firefox) and they show popups of advertisements the virus has endorsed. I can't seem to find the process paths on my laptop...

    Regards,
    Aphelion5

Thanks xxx-xxx. I've just tried it, and it works so far.

Oh NO! It just copies itself back into 'C:\Documents and Settings\(User)\Local Settings\Temp'
    And it restarts!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Which is why we don't allow just anyone to post in your thread and was why xxx-xxx was not allowed to. Although they meant well in trying to help you, it is not the correct fix. To get proper help in removing malware, the instructions you need to follow are in the sticky threads in the forum

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

The above is what you should have read.... not the thread from xxx-xxx
