My cursor swims all over my screen without me doing anything. After a bit it will settle down and be ok for awhile. Then it will start the same thing all over again. When it does this I have no control over it.

I have a DELL laptop inspiron 8600. Running Microsoft Windows XP home edition, version 2002 with service pack 2.

    Intel (R) Pentium (R) M
    processor 1400 MHz
585 MHz, 256 MB of RAM

I just recently changed my browser to Firefox but was having this problem before changing. Thanks for any help you can give. FalconRising

My Logitech balltrack mouse was doing that after the cable
developed a minor short in it. I replaced the mouse and the
    problem went away.

I disconnected my mouse and tried useing the mouse on the lap top. Same problem exists.

Well, this reinforces ComputerGate's suggestion. Replacing the mouse is probably your best bet in this case. If you need help choosing/pricing one, post back, and MG will give you a flood of links.
