I'm noticing that when I click my pointer on the mouse to enter text in a search field, the flashing vertical line you get moves below the space area..and I have to move the cursor up and click again where it should normally go (for searching through google or typing in a password). Is this a malware issue or software issue?

    Thanks in advance

in a browser or in Windows Explorer or both?
We need to know a) the version of Windows b) the browser c) the mouse (brand and model) and if it is PS/2, USB or wireless.

My OS is 64 bit Win 7 ultimate. I only use Firefox. It happens with every website including google. My mouse is HP VoodooDNA wired. Model: MOBKUL. This started happening after I went through the malware removal steps and help on this site.

do you think it's the mouse causing this? I'll take a look for a new driver.

Just a note: What plugins are you using, and did you try a new profile?

Only reason I'm asking, if the cursor works everywhere else, then it must be a profile or add-on/plugin issue, IMHO.

so it looks like the updated driver works for the search field (not going below the space area), but still able to click and see the vertical cursor anywhere on a screen if I click there

That's done in your user control panel here at the forums. It's called a signature which you can add or modify at any time.

    1. I assume you are running Win 7. Right click My Computer and select Properties.
    2. Open Snipping Tool in Programs.
    3. Click new and drag cross around what you want to capture.
    4. Click save. (I put my saves on the desktop and give it a different name).
    5. Go to ImgBam http://www.imagebam.com/
and click the Basic Upload tab.
    6. Click browse, find your file and select upload.
    7. Copy and paste the BB code here.
