Alright my friend gave me a computer and I am having problems getting to boot up. It has a Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro motherboard. Well first off I know computers pretty well but I am stuck on this.. So I am coming to y'all guys for help. When I try to boot it up the RAM does not post(beep) when starting up. So I removed the RAM and tryed again still no beeping. I then tryed just one stick, and still nothing. So I am asking anyone for help. If you could respond to this thread or get a hold of me via Messenger:

    1. Remove your contact details from your post. They are an easy target for smapbots.

    2. Are you sure there is actually a working buzzer connected to the motherboard?

    That was my first thought.

Interestingly, there are two distinct versions of the GA-K8NS Pro - one for 754 sockets and one for 939. In looking at the manuals for each, neither one shows an on-board piezoelectric speaker (commonly called buzzers), therefore you must connect the case speaker to hear the beeps. Sadly, some cases don't include them so you would need to add one to hear system beeps and BIOS error warnings for over temp conditions.

Did your friend say this system worked before giving it to you?

    Hi

Do you get anything on screen at POST? as generally GFX card is first then the rest, try to see if you can boot in safe mode as it "may" show you where the boot process fails as you get a readout of the actual POST steps, or in the BIOS set the Quick Boot (or similar) to disable and should give you same listing as to where the boot is at.

Check all connections for any loose ones, pull them out and push back in.

Reset CMOS, pull out motherboard battery for 10mins and replace, actuallg maybe worth trying with a new battery.

Enter the BIOS and set the fist boot device to CDROM and use a ram checker cd, this one is good MemTest86+ but test each stick one by one. If their is no floppy in that PC get the ISO version and burn using ImgBurn the ISO to CD
