Custom Cursor Placement...

Is there similar software that configs my cursor to "Smart Move", similar to Logitech's smart move feature?

Taking it up a notch.. a software that configs to set the cursor to pop-up on the desktop exactly where the user wants it to be, after an inshop process, and after an Internet process. I.E.: Fastmail places the cursor dead center. I'd rather it be placed on the inbox. Is there cursor placement software?

Is there software that allows me to create my own cursor? I'm bored of that silly little slanty white arrow, and the options are the pits... I'd like to install my own cursor ideas. Ones conducive to creative thinking, and not so pointy and goofy.

Sometimes I need a little burst of action to give a thought particle a little boost. Is there a software that I can backclick to make the cursor detonate into a huge Explosion? If there isn't, I bet there soon will be...

Well .... Let's see keeping the cursor where it is easier to use is as easy as the snap to feature accesible thru your control panel>mouse>motion>click the box. Jumps the cursor to the default boxes saving you alot of mouse strokes.

As far as boring cursors might I suggest CursorXP ...It is available here at MG

    Thanks

and I just stumbled into this: http://gallery.popularscreensavers.com/index.jsp?catid=17&

I've been wanting a sword cursor for as long as I've been using the computer...

The variety in this website is amazing... and it sure breaks the boredom, by adding some life to the dektop...

    CORRECTION:

WARNING!. I ran Spybot after visiting that website, and downloading a cutie little sword cursor. and Spybot found 90 new malware entries, and deleted them, and lost my little sword. oh sigh. and poop & darn!

It took Spybot's deep-scan nearly an hour to run through my PC's 41000 files.

So the next thing I must do, is apply my previous registry backup, to enure my PC is back as it was before I trusted someone I shouldn't have. I hate when that happens! It makes me feel "raped".

Is there an accurate full list of websites that can't be trusted?

There is no such thing as a "full" list of sites that can't be trusted and I'll bet you a dollar that there never ever will be. Having said that, there are some very good utilities that act as profilactics buy banning known malware and malware spreaders. One basic one (that now seems almost quaint) is IE Spyad:

Another super one (probably my favorite anti-mal) is javacool's spyware blaster. This program is fantastic:

A third is the one you already seem to have, Spybot S&D. Just make sure you have immunization turned on.

    Agreed. You win my dollar.

I will do all your suggestions. Thanks.

Strange that Spybot didn't block those 90 malwares, with immunization on. But I was in SeaMonkey, so now I have some proof that Spybot doesn't defend Mozilla stuff. Took me three hours to clean up the damage that website caused to the PC, and I'll bet another dollar that it isn't over.
I ran a reg backup, Spybot, Norton AVS, EasyCleaner, and Uninstaller.
Even had to uninstall SeaMonkey, and reinstall it to get it working again.
Is there anything else I should do?

Well, at leat we have MajorGeeks as one of the reliable honest download sites.

I'm going to report this incident to Google. Have you seen how Google is setting warnings for vile webpages which are bad for your PC?

Are you aware of an honest website that offers custom cursors for w98se, without the bugs?

Try doing a System Restore (pick a date/time prior to the malware icon site's download).

In the future; always create a restore point prior to downloading anything from "unknown sites" which you are entirely new to visiting. I use the tiny program called: System Restore Point Creator 1.1 for easier access to the Windows System Restore Utility.

The System Restore Point Creator program can be used to automatically create a system restore point entitled "Daily_Restore_Point". You can however, change this to whatever text you want, with or without spaces as well when you open the program. You can also use this program for scheduling a system restore point creation every x days, weeks, etc.

Yes and Yes... Both are a "good idea."

!conMania Collection 8.01 Build 20041018 has tons of icons (even a few swords, I believe) This version includes more new and revised icons, improved installation, and easier access to the icons as well as improved "uninstall" ability. It is also compatible with all Windows OS 98+

    Good Luck! ;)

COMPUABLE, aren't you concerned that the bugs might go for the restore files? I've always found that happens, and there has to be a reason the malware guide tells you to disable/re-enable System Restore at the end of their process.

If you really want to be clean, I suggest you follow the instructions in the malware removal thread

    HI!
I looked for this here but didn't find it.

    http://www.awicons.com/download.html

Get this version...it's free and I use it to make my own icons and cursors. It's easy to use and 'baddies' free!

I'm downloading "awicons" this second. Thanks for the super info. I'm hoping I can copy the sword I prefer, and paste it into this software's system.

At a glance, this software looks like it might be suitable for creating avatars too.

It would be nice if I could get the cursor to spin when the hour glass is triggered. "fingers crossed".

Re: "Accept that some days you are the Pigeon...and some days you are the Statue".

Being abused so (re:90 malwares) by an innocent seeming vile website offering free glitters:mad: , makes one be like the little sleeping field mouse, who happened to be where the grazing cow lifted its tail, when all H breaks loose upon the unsuspecting little "pigeon". "coo coo, and yuk! (ohoh, where' the smilie with something nasty falling on its head? Have you seen the smilies in "female first forum"?)

I managed to repair most of the damage from what that website did, but my CD ROM now doesn't detect a CD inserted in the drive, and my previews feature is gone. I'm thinking that Mada is right, in that they probably messed up other file systems. I can't see why they would do that? It's surely not good for business. No matter how Internet mean they are to people, I.E.: "Internet mugging", they will Never get their money by being mean to them, and they will never see their victims bleed and squirm and cry. It's like "dropping a nuke on the world". Maybe they're just going with the flow.

Now I must go to Windows Explorer to engage the CD, and for preview I can download a fix. I'm supposing I'll need to download new CD drivers.
Probably the only way to really get them out of my machine is to format, but I dread that huge task of reloading and tweaking.

Why would a website do that to people they don't know? What's in it for them? It's like they are at war with people. Ramming 90 nasties into peoples PC's is just bad-business at best.
One day companies will have to realize that abusing and hurting people and potential clients is not good for business.
I sent them a complaint, but I dare not open their reply. I'll do an indepth search of their websites, to learn, know, and publicize who we Can't ever trust. Maybe by getting less of peoples money it will start to wake them to a little synthentic honest reality.

Awicons loaded. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks again.

I don't think you can 'paste' a graphic into AWicons Lite, but you CAN open an icon file with it to make changes to it.
In order to save what you create as a .gif or a .jpg you will need an editor like IrfanView...that's what I use. It will open the .ico and you can then save it as any format you choose.
If you don't already have it you can get it HERE: Graphics | IrfanView 3.98

    Have fun!
Here is an icon for 'My Documents' that I made...it's a bookshelf. :D

Somewhere I read an interesting article about how malware is classified, perhaps Ad-Aware does that, where they use a scale something like 1-5 to define different characteristics of software that's put onto your system by websites. One point they made is that not all software classified as malware is bad because it is designed to do intentional damage to your system. Some of it is just really badly made software and the damage is the result of that.
