Hi! I'm familiar with the Windows Registry and can add file types but am not familiar enough to do this task. I want to customize different file classes' context menu in Exploer. I wan to move options I need only occasionally or not at all to a submenu and options I use a lot to the main menu. I also want an easier way to add file classes to the Registry. I'm using several versions of Windows, and they include Win98SE, Win7/64 and Win11/64. BTW, I could use more information on the Registry entries, as my knowledge of such is limited, and I keep having to reference already-established entries to help me out.

Thank you. That's a lot of information to digest. :) Before I continue, I find that, sometimes, on Win64 systems, changes to the Registry don't seem to take effect, whether I do it or another program does it. Even Administrator mode doesn't always work. Any word on that?

I recently found here a program to edit context menus but have yet to use it. Other than that, I occasionally need to write a program's settings to the Registry. If I want to do that again, I'll have to refer back to the programs, though, as I don't remember how to do it. :(
