cvx.exe = Trojan Horse?

i noticed it earlier today listed in services.msc... google didn't say much about it except one forum in french hinted that it's a trojan.

C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\CVX.exe

even with "view hidden files" it's not visible in that directory.

Win XP Pro SP2

iv'e ran a complete, fully updated safe mode scan with:

Anti-Vir
Ad-Aware (+VX2 Cleaner)
Spybot S&D
MS Anti-Spyware
Ewido
CWShredder
CCleaner
Registry Mechanic
and the good old fashioned Start menu >> Search

didn't get a hit with any of these.

the service isn't active, and i have even set it from manual to disabled.
are there any other tools or steps i should take?

Most items that wind up running from a temp folder like that are bad. And if it is a service, there is an even greater chance it is bad. You need to follow the below steps so we can determine. Files belonging to services are not so simply deleted.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
