    Re: CW Shredder Question

I also have incurred the same results, CWShredder doesn't find or remove:

CWS.Oslogo (if value is 2) Registry value: Domains: *.coolwebsearch.com[*] dword:4
CWS.Oslogo (if value is 2) Registry value: Domains: *.coolwwwsearch.com[*] dword:4
CWS.Googlems.2 (if value is 2) Registry value: Domains: *.xxxtoolbar.com[*] dword:4
CWS.Googlems.4 (if value is 2) Registry value: Domains: *.teensguru.com[*] dword:4

i have hunted down an .exe which was involved, and i might be able to manually remove those registry values manually, since none of the programs i use can find them (regcleaner,CWShredder, hijackthis, etc...)

However, it would seem CWShredder has disabled the trojans capability of loading porn websites/etc...

    Re: CW Shredder Question

Since you are responding to a thread that is almost a year old, I would have to first ask what version of CWShredder are you using.

Second are you having any problems that you need help in resolving. If so, read the sticky threads at the top of this forum and run thru the cleanup procedures in READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal thread next. If still having a problems at that point, start a new thread for your problem and indicate that you ran the READ ME FIRST and state your problems.

    Re: CW Shredder Question

i hath been through that already, i naturally do those things...

i am using both the old cws and new version, the old one picks up the information still existing in my registry, and the new doesnt, both show no results in the scan/fix event... on scan only i still get those results, and i wish to remove all history of having these, i'll repost this later, as it is less relevant now that it is just a few registry values... but if you could tell me where to go to find them, like LM or so, i wouldnt have to ;P

Okay! But this is not a new thread! I will be moving you to a new thread in a minute. With some instructions. But just a note, if you have run ALL steps in the READ ME, remember that it tells you to tell us that to avoid wasting time.

    Re: CW Shredder Question

Okay! Here is what I would like you to do now.

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
