~daemon Tools~

Yo peeps, Ive been trying to play some of my games straight from my HDD, but being computer illiterate I have been using small pieces of advice to do this. I never needed a cracker since all my games are bought and I have every CD key that came with them. Buuuut...I still downloaded DAEMON tools and messed around with it (unsucessfully I might add) until I accidently moved my DVD/CD combo drive to be a Virtual Drive. And now my Opt drive is acting up, like when I try to open it by pressing the Open/Close button nothing happens. Only during startup my drive works, but when my pc is already started it wont open anymore, it acts like a dud.

I tried right clicking on the little icon in my toolbar in the lower left, I went to Emulation, then to Unmount All Drives, still nothing. Any help will be appreciated.

Hmmm....could be that Daemon tools has claimed the drive letter of your optical drive. Here's how I would check:

1. Right-click 'My Computer'
2. Select 'Manage'
3. On the 'Computer Management' window, click 'Disk Management'

Here, you should see a listing of all drives on your computer. One should correspond to your optical drive. Try right-clicking it, and selecting 'Change Drive Letter Or Path', and following the wizard to assign it a drive letter that is not in use.

 

w00t! Thx bro, thats what I needed. It now works! I had planned on buying a new DVD drive (I thought this one was broke) and you just saved me. I had thought that it was still working, because when I started the pc up my drive would open, but when WinXP started the drive would stop working.
