The drink (as the title says...Dark and Stormy LOL). Any of you know how to make one?

Emma? You make them for any of the drunks in your bar?

My husband got some Ginger beer to make one.

    Yep...just wondering at the ratio.

lmao...well, we figured out the rum part. There were all different ratios for the two ingredients.

This is very difficult! I'm sure the perfect combo of ginger beer and rum makes a difference.:-D

Hmm, I wonder if Spruce Beer would work well there as it's not as cloyingly sweet for my taste. We have Marco's super gassed bottles. They have a warning not to open it unless it's been properly chilled for 24 hrs. Maybe ya'll have an equivalent down there. Fred knows nothing about it. It just fizzes one's brains away!;)

According to my Mixology app... LOL

2 oz. Gosling's Black Seal Rum
    Ginger beer (no amount given)

Pour rum over ice in a lowball glass and fill with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge.

I'm thinking since ginger beer can be a PITA to find, if you can get Vernor's ginger soda it should work. Not other brands, they don't have even remotely the same ginger taste as Vernor's.

Hehehe Tibbs, dilute it as much or least as you want!:-D Time to experiment eh?:-D

Seriously, finding a good ginger etc. beer/ale is tough and or pricey, the commercial crap is exactly that, crap!

Goya makes a pretty good Ginger Beer. I am cautious when mixing drinks, I am mainly a wine or beer chugger. :-D I usually start at around 1oz of rum and 5oz of mixer. Sometimes a little more, depending on my mood.

    Sounds tasty. :cool

My husband found this stuff: http://www.barrittsgingerbeer.bm/overseas.html

I'm not sure if it's 'good' or not other than the strong taste of ginger (which I love in my cooking) wasn't very pleasant in a carbonated drink.

We got some dark rum from Grand Cayman when we were there for our nephews wedding this past winter (I can't put the name down LOL).

I don't think I'll be having any Dark and Stormy drinks myself.

He'll have to experiment with ratios.
