Darth Maul Movie...

So how about Darth Maul, in his own movie, kicking all kinds of ass? He'd start out training with Darth Sidious, then go out and double-light saber some Jedi butt. The story would be more detailed than that of course, but man, that movie could be great if handled right. Ray Park would have to reprise the role, using his own voice this time, instead of a dub over. I know I'd see it...

I prefer cheering for the good guys. Oh wait a minute, Anakin ends up being a bad guy... I'm so confused.

It seems too me he kinda got his Darth a** Maul-ed didn't he?
Obi-Wan put the freakin Jedi can of Whop-A** on him.
I wouldn't want to see him eating bugs, or whatever Darth People eat to go to the darkside of the force... There's enough of that on TV!

We shot Duality using two miniDV cameras—a Canon XL1 and a Canon GL1, both running in progressive (non-interlaced) Frame Movie mode—and transferred the footage to our Macs using FireWire (IEEE-1394, iLink) interfaces. The movie runs at 29.97 fps.

Post-production moved briskly. Dave and I live several miles apart, so we worked independently and transmitted shots back and fourth using email and FTP. I handled most of the computer graphics work—the modeling, matte paintings, and animation. I also mixed the sounds and edited the final cut. Dave put the rough cut together while he keyed and composited the live action with my rendered background plates. He also did the lightsaber glows, and modeled the Star Wars seeker, the hallway, and the walls of the arena. He put together the entire seekers sequence.

Much of our work was accomplished using several-years-old Macintosh hardware—an early G3 system, a 266 MHz G3 PowerBook, even an earlier PPC 604 machine—but we both upgraded to dual-processor Macintosh G4 systems in order to get the post-production work finished as quickly as possible.

Even though it's a Star Wars fan film, and amateur, the fact that they filmed this and produced it digitally before Lucas announced that Episode II would be filmed the same way is impressive.
