    Das Kbd, Exposed! It's a blacked-out $20. Keytronic...

What chutzspa - wish I'd thought of it!

    ... I wouldn't doubt it (yup - buy.com $20, MSRP = $30).
. People are always looking for the "nothing-for-something" sales angle. These Das Kbd guys will probably rake it in - for a little while... There always seems to be enough people out here to fall for them. At least these guys are using a halfway decent kbd as the basis - it could have been one of those $5. junkers. But all good lies are more plausible if they contain a grain of truth... I guess they deserve the 300%+ profit for having the stone cojones it takes to pull it off.
. If you want to see one of the biggest "nothing-for-something" scams I've ever seen, check out the International Star Registry... :roll; The Ultra X-Connect was a pretty good N-F-S while it lasted too.

Can't say I'm surprised. And I wouldnt'say it was a lie either - when did they say it was a unique product? They said nothing of the sort - if you bought one you were paying the extra $80 for the privilage of having the inscription removed.

    Dumb? Certainly. Dishonest? Not really.

Not only did Maximum PC give it a high rating, they also used it on their Dream Machine this year. I have to admit, I was drooling. I just couldn't justify spending 80 bucks on a keyboard.

Thanks guys, I got a big chuckle outta this one.

I'm still waiting for the Optimus to come out (due out supposedly in 2006!), that'll be a true uber geek keyboard. You can even have touch typing on (same as the Das Keyboard). I signed up to receive notification on when it comes out!
