Dash Cam

anyone have a dash came that would recommend to others?

my biggest concers are

how does it mount?
the link says adhesive pads? that doesnt sound like a good idea?
the link you shared shows pictures of a mounted camera, but does not say how it is mounted?

I can't tell how it is powered, it says "super capacitor instead of a battery", how is yours powered?>
do you download videos wifi? or use an SD card?

 

It's stuck behind my rear view mirror. It gets a good view of the road without blocking mine. The 3M pads hold well. It's the same stuff automakers use to affix name badges and emblems on the outside of cars.

Batteries can swell or even explode when overheated, like in a hot car. That's why most are switching to capacitors to store energy. They usually come with a lighter socket adapter but I have one that's plugged into a spare connector on my fuse panel and I ran the cable behind my interior trim to the camera.

I've never bothered with the Wifi. It seems more a gimmick than useful. I just rely on the SD card.

Before that I had a couple from Itronics, and really liked them, but these seem to be phased-out now.

 

I watch those videos on you tube about the dash cam videos that show people doing plain ole stupid stuff


and then in real life, on a different message board/forum, the admin, someone who exchanged PMs/emails on a weekly basis, (he was an IT guy, and would explain his bad emails/posts on the forum by telling me he was driving)...died after he ran a stop sign.
no dash cam video, or web redemption, he ist just gone and even though i didnt really know his name/etc, I was his efriend for 3 years and he was a smart dude, with kids/wife and .......stupid stupid stupid way to end
