Data Recovery

Our hard drive failed and I did a recovery using the disks created when I purchased the computer. I didn't do backups like I should have and now I have lost our business files, pictures, everything. I heard there are programs that can recovery the data. Which program would you recommend? I want something a little easier to run. I tried Quick Recovery andit has a lot of information but it looks like system files to me. I don't see any of the file extensions I was looking for. Can you help?
