Hello, I'm no tech genius and hoping for some help.

I run Vista and Firefox. Often, when visiting websites with articles or blog entries, I want to see the date an article or story was written but that information is not on the page I am viewing. How can I tell whether I am reading a software review written in 2009 versus one written in 2004?

Thank you in advance and nice to meet you all.

Welcome aboard, ya that's one my pet peeves too and I don't know why.:confused However, reviews are usually done before the release of the product so that should give some idea. Hopefully someone has an answer of some sort.

    Hi

Indeed its a pain at times when looking for information, sadly no answer for you apart from that its upto whoever is creating the webpage or blog to enable or add the date to the post.

Majority of times on Blogs the first post on a day gives the date and subsequent posts on that day only give time of post, so indeed if you used a search engien and landed on a specific link then half of the time there is no date.

This is one of the things I hate most as well! It's got nothing to do with your software, it's the people writing the reviews. I post news for another site, and sometimes there just isn't enough in the inbox so I have to look to other sites to get stuff. If there isn't a date on them, I won't post them. It's not that hard to date your work...I was taught to do it in first grade. I figure if they're not smart enough to do that, then their review is probably not so good either. Plenty of other people put dates on theirs, I'll stick with them.

There has been a few (very few) that I've come across that says, "your viewing an old or out dated article" then directs to to another but yes sadly they're not all like that.
