Day of Defeat - Steam

    Hello everyone,

    I'm hoping that someone can help me determine whether i can actually play day of defeat using my computer. Here's what i got

    Intel Pentium 4, 2.4GHz with 1GB of ram, broadband etc.

    I've got the intel extreme basic graphics (intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV)

    Any suggestions would be really helpfull.

    The problem is when i load day of defeat it tells me its loading then returns to windows without any error message?

    I can access the servers but the same happens?

    Any ideas?

    Hi

    What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?
    What speed is your broadband?


    Spec for the game if Day of Defeat Source version are


    So may be able to play this game, so if its crashing then first off disable your security applications, 3rd party Antivirus and Firewall etc and then try.

    but sadly onboard Intel graphics are not good at all for 3d worldspace type games, can see if your can update your Graphics Card driver and try again,

    Hi DavidGP,

    Thanks for replying.

    Im using Windows XP pro, version 2002, with sp3 and the broadband is really quick for other stuff.

    Im not too sure what the (support for SSE is?) but i'll close down my firewall and AVG and see if it runs the game.

    If this fails I'll then try to update the graphics card driver and see what happens.

    Still no luck after closing firewall and av. The driver is also upto date so i guess that the graphics isn't up to scratch which is a real pity.
