Thoughts: Useless archaic medaling thats just not needed these days and unless all your clocks are auto setting you waste the extra hour gained going around resetting them

even worse as this happens at a weekend is if you or someone forgets to change your works clocks , you could have machines not switching on at correct times etc

Just stick to UTC and be done with it :)

Personally I like it dark in the morning when I leave the house!! Then when I come home I've got a little more time to put the steaks on the grill, as opposed to my grilling light!!

i had an episode around the time change that led to like a minor breakdown - i can't think of a single good reason why. I like to think it's my little way of declaring that daylight savings SUCKS.

DST is a source of confusion...I just don`t see the necessity of it. One excuse they used to use around here is daylight for students heading off on foot for school. Well...then we DID have to walk to school. Now all the kids here ride a bus, so that argument no longer flies. Perhaps that explains, too, the number of over-weight kids I see around town.?

It just makes my housemates cuss me a little louder in the am(nondrinker vs drinkers)
"what the hell is that friggin geek doing at 5am-damm!!"

I am an early riser so i look upon dst as an extra hour of free time b4 the rest of the sleepy world wakes up!

Nice Link Asus for those that do not understand--- :)

Here in my neck of the woods, they the local school board in order to save some money. Gave the bill for busing to the parents, it’s like 276 dollars per year…with two parents working, there’s lots more kids walking here in Vacaville……wobbles

    ……and I like saving time, it don’t cost me a thing!….

No. Daylight Saving Time is not observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Arizona, and most of the Eastern Time Zone portion of Indiana.

Just in case there may be some confusion, DST starts in April and ended this morning. We are now on standard time. The reason for the shift in April is to save energy, and we now returned to normal time. It's dark already in the mornings for kids waiting on the highway for school buses, so moving back to standard time helps this for a while. The farther North you go the more the need to change to standard sooner.

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

While it's true that you can't make a rope longer by cutting a piece off of one end and tying it onto the other, there are supposedly energy savings by shifting "daylight" from early morning when most people are in bed, to the evening when most people are up and using electricity to light things up after dark.

One year they decided to try DST year round, and in the winter months with the shortest days, kids were out waiting for school buses in the dark, which was more dangerous for them. The cancelled that idea after one year.

I get off work at 7:00 PM, and there are only a few summer months (with DST) when I actually get out of work while the sun is shining, which is nice for me, but overall, I don't really care one way or the other.

I remember that...that idea went over like a poopy in a punchbowl. I think the same cat that wanted to convert the U.S. to metric in the 70's or early 80's penned that idea, too

Unless they move DST back to about 3 hours of time change, it won't make a bit of difference to me; leaving for work at 0400 makes no difference :D

Tomorrow the sun will rise at 7:30am and set at 5:20pm standard time here. Late December, times are 8:30am and 4:30pm standard time. Sunrise would be 9:30am on DST. End of June, times are 5:20am and 10:10pm DST. During the summer because we are North, it is light long before and long after sunrise and sunset.

Come 2007, The US is going to be 1 month out of sync with Canada. Going to play hell with the TV schedules.

@Star. The US should be metric. It should. Yes it should... :)

The company I work for recently got bought by a Swiss owned company and we now do everything in Metric !!!!!

On daylight saving time, It always takes me about a week to adjust, cant stand it.

Wish they would leave it alone.
