I've been having problems with this computer and decided to use BOOT and NUKE again to get rid of Windows ME that I've had nothing but problems with and install XP. Afetr DBAN finished it gave me this message " DBAN finished with non-fatal errors This is usually caused by discs with bad clusters". Now does that mean my hard drive is garbage? I wanted to know before I try and install a new OS. I'm including the log from DBAN and for some reason I had to put it in a zip file so I could upload it.

I uploaded your file and looked at it. The wipe failed for verification reasons. As a long time user of Boot&Nuke, I have experienced this same message three times, once on a laptop and twice on desktops, and on two systems I couldn't install an OS, and on the third, the hard drive completely failed in less than a week. I can't say that your hard drive is hopeless, but I would get a new one if it were my computer. Others may have more/better advice! Hope this helps!:)
