.dbx files missing in OEx

Our other pc has been having problems launching OEx. As soon as it opens, a MS error pops up - no particular info just a "Send error report" message, and then the program closes down.

We went through MS troubleshooting and reached the help page search for .dbx files with "search hidden files & folders" and "Search system folders" checked. It came up with zero results. Can all the .dbx files really be all gone?
We're run spybot, avg, adaware etc & can't find anything, and then run a system restore, but still nada.
The system is Windows XP2.

No worries, a 2nd system retore seemed to fix it.
