Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

You might have a corrupt or missing DCIMAN32.DLL.

    Try this:

Click Start > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click Command Prompt, and click Run As Administrator (click Yes if UAC pops up).

In the Command box, type 'sfc /scannow' (no quotes, and note the space between sfc and /). Press Enter.

After the process completes, reboot and see if the symptoms have changed.

I'm good, WW - truckin' right along...;)

More than likely: it may have to be a USB keyboard, as most modern laptops do not include a PS2 connection.

Don't know what a PS2 is, but if you could suggest a good brand and what to look for I would be very happy camper....Thanks again....WhiteWolf

PS/2 connectors are the generic round connectors for keyboards and mice (picture below).

Unless your laptop has these type connectors, you'll have to use a USB keyboard, either wired or wireless - I've always liked Microsoft products, such as this one or this one. There are also dedicated input device manufacturers, such as Logitech.

If you hit any good computer store or a Walmart, they'll probably have several brands from which to choose. Check them out, see which one feels best to you.

Hooking up a wired keyboard is usually a cinch - with a wireless, you might have to install some software, but the procedure is normally painless.

Since I'm on the truck, I prefer wireless and Microsoft also....I have a wireless mouse now and love it....Thanks for the info....Sorry to drift away from the subject....

Make sure you check one out hands-on before buying - nothing worse than being stuck with a keyboard that don't fit right.

You can drift all you want, man - pleasure talking with you. Be careful out there! ;)
