My Linksys router finally got supported with DD-WRT So I flashed my router with and I tell you it's much better then the stock firmware.

I suppose people around here know what it is :-D

I'll read up on what it offers. Was going to do this with:-
    http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
Last I checked, the linksys router, I was using was not supported.
Does one have the options to boost the signal db? I wanted to try and improve connectivity with a LT.
Unfortunately it's two way and can't boost the signal on the LT but worth a go LOL
    Will read up on it.
    Cheers..

Well my router doesn't support it. I think DD-WRT is good.

Not sure. It has the option to increase the wireless broadcast power tho.

    My router is Linksys WRT160N

true. Best QoS I have worked with and awesome bandwidth management and logging.

are you sure? There are several modded versions out there. How much flash space and ram does it have? signal db and broadcast power is the same thing. ;)

Tomato should run fine. Though IIRC tomato doesn't support 802.11n (though I dont think dd-wrt does either). Go to tomato's site and download the one with "use this for most routers" try WRT54GSv4.bin. Should work like a charm. Don't forget to do a full nvram clear and a 30/30/30 before you install tomato. Post back here or get me on aim if you have trouble.. Sometimes tomato can be a bit tricky to install. But its well worth it. ;)

I'm happy with DD-WRT and it does support N. I use N so it would be kind of a waste.
