I downloaded drivers and the mouse is dead. Have tried using safe mode to reset to earlier time, reload drivers before going in to windows, windows repair. The cursor will not move. The mouse is dead.

    Hi and welcome to MG's,

Try the mouse in another port!! what was the purpose of updating the mouse drivers?? any perticular issue?? or was the mouse working normally before the new drivers?? and where was the location that you got the drivers from??

This is exactly why we here at MG's do not condone the use of so called driver finding software, they have the capability of royally F**King your system up !!!:cry!!! Please uninstall Drivermax from your system as you will continuosly run into issues like this.

I need for you to go into device manager...

XP..... Click on Start - Settings - Control Panel
    .Double click on System
.Click on the Hardware tab at the top of the System Properties page
    .Click on Device Manager

    Vista/ 7.....
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

Delete the mouse driver from ... Mice and other pointing devices ... now go to (xp) add/remove programs (vista/ 7) programs and features and delete any reference to your mouse. Shut down your machine and disconnect your mouse..... re start your machine when it gets onto your home page and everything is loaded connect your mouse and follow the "found new hardware" prompts, you should now have the original driver for your mouse.

The Golden Rule here is.... "if it aint broke why fix it" and please stay away from these driver finding programs if you have any further driver issues please make a new thread in the "Drivers Forum" where you will get the right assistance from either myself or one of our fellow geeks.

This morning i attached the mouse via ps2. The keyboard and monitor via USB. When I booted the monitor was blank. I removed the battery and shorted BIOS, rebooted and set the date/time. Windows went thru it's checks. After all that the mouse and keyboad will not work.
