I see hearts meaning these are for Valentine's day.

 

I'm in Florida, not too many snowmen to see here, so we use hearts. Glad to see the sense-of-humor-ectomy was a success.

 

Eric gets address labels from a few different places, but I never get any. I could never figure that out since I'm the one who has the credit card in my name. All Eric has (actually had) was an outstanding student loan.

I just use his though.

I think they only send them to ungrateful people like Star....

 

Wow, where's this coming from Cindy? Chris was a bit disappointed by your statement. He and I are far from ungrateful over the 1 - 2 envelopes full of address labels, stationary tablets and sheets of stickers we get every week..it's more a case of we feel guilty if we keep and use them. We have over the years made several charitable contributions and get so many labels & other miscellaneous items from these organizations that by now they must have at the very least exceeded the amount of our donations so why did we donate to begin with? Added to that, we now seem to have been added to other lists and they send us labels along with solicitations for donations.

The intention of this thread was a joke, to lighten the mood in the lounge...laughing over the way we have been invaded by the address label fairy...I guess it didn't fly.

 

I think it`s hilarious, sis. I used to get them too but I sent short letters to all the org.`s that sent them to me....they get forwarded to Debbie now LMAO. She suspects, but when all else fails, deny, deny, deny heh heh heh. Chewy and Katherine know but they aren`t telling.

 

LOL...I know what you mean...my wife gets these things like there is no tomorrow!! Between State Farm (our car, renters, life, hearing aid, wedding ring insurance) and St. Jude (which we often donate to)...we will NEVER have to write our return address as long as we live!!

The worst thing about it....there ALL on my computer desk!!!!

Yes...tons of them...more than we'd ever use in a lifetime....we get them at least once a week at our home address and my PO Box addy. I used to save all the stationary tablets and sheets of stickers and send them to Lexie but I don't even do that anymore....it has become overwhelming b/c there is so much coming in. SPAM..it's all the same be it US Mail or email...ugh...

I understand what "adress label's" are , but why do you get so many free?

In the US, charitable organizations send out these address labels with a polite request for a donation in return. If you donate to two or three one year, it seems that you get labels and requests from 10 or 12 the next.

If our stack keeps increasing, I should be able to re-wallpaper the bathroom with them soon.

Abby and Star, I am SO SORRY!!! I was completely joking. Please forgive me for not using a smiley to get it across. I actually thought about editing it after I posted it, and then didn't. Now I REALLY wish I had. Gosh, you are two of the most wonderful people I know, and always caring and generous to the people you touch (which are many). You bring so much insight, humor, level-headedness, and just all around friendship to the board here. I think I just assumed that it would come across as absolutely absurd. I guess my sense of humor goes down the toilet late at night. Please forgive me.

i like the address labels my insurance company sends them to me it keeps me from having to go buy them lol

 

I'd hardly been in the country 2 minutes and I was receiving address labels from companies I'd never even heard of! Tons of them! They had my name, and yet at that point I was still an alien! Amazing huh?

 

Hmm, I too am 'victim' of the cheesy labels and, letterheads, and envelopes, etc. At this time of the year, especially, I get all the Christmas cards and stuff, all of which I'm supposed to give them money for. I don't mind donating money - I do it nearly every week too this and that cause, but I'm getting stuff from charities and people I've never even heard of, LoL!

I did find a use for all those stickers and letter heads and stuff, though. I just let kids play with them when visitors bring their young 'uns over. Now if I could just teach them that the stickers go on the paper - and not on me walls or on the living room chairs where I sit on them and end up with my name and address stuck to my butt for the rest of the day! ...Grrr!
