I am having a couple of extremely frustrating problems with my computer. I have already carefully followed and executed your "Read and Run me first" instructions-however, I am still experiencing these problems. I will break down each problem as thouroughly as possible. Additionally, attached is my hijackthis logfile and my Bitdefender online scan. Symptoms:
    - PRINTER PROBLEM: Whenever I attempt to print, Microsoft word (or notepad) freezes as soon as I click file>print. I have tried everything to solve the problem: I purchased a new printer (Epson Stylus C86), I have downloaded the printer driver from multiple sources (the software CD and online), and the problem persists. However, I was able to print one time immediately after I executed all of the steps on your "Read and Run me first" support forum-then, once I rebooted, the problem reappeared. One more piece of possibly vital information: in my "printers and faxes" section of my toolbar there are 5 printer drivers present that correspond to printers that I have never owned or installed on my computer. The printer icons list names such as "Dr. Murphy" and "Ryan Conn" (people I have never heard of). When I attempt to remove these suspicious drivers, I receive and error stating "cannot remove, currently in use." Additionally, when my printer is turned on, if I even attempt to access "printers and faxes", my entire toolbar freezes and I have to close it using the Windows Task Manager.
    - BOOTING PROBLEM: My computer is extremely slow to restart or shut down. More specifically, when I click "restart" or "shut down" my computer does absolutely nothing until about the 15th to 20th click on the restart button(then it will finally reboot).

The procedures I have already followed from your forum regarding the removal of malware have been tremendously helpful, and I really appreciate this assistance. I am now completely lost as to what to do next regarding these problems. Particularly the printer problem, which I have been dealing with for approximately 2 months. I rely heavily (or at least used to) on my printer. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information to asisst in this process.
    Thank you very much.

Download this trial version of Ewido Security Suite

    • Install ewido security suite
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
    • The program will have a window come up. One of the buttons on the left is to Update. Click the Update button.and then Start the Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    • After it completes the update, click the Scanner button

Now exit Ewido. Now print the below instructions or save them locally because I want you do have no browsers opened and also have no connection to the internet (unplug your cable) while doing the below.

Okay, reboot into safe mode and follow the steps below. (If you have any problems at all trying to get into safe mode to complete these steps, just run them in normal boot mode and make sure you tell me when you come back.)

Open up Ewido and do the following:

    • Click on Scanner
    • Then click Settings
    • Under What to Scan? Select Scan every file
    • Then click OK
    • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will start.
    • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files that are infected. Leave the defaults selections (to Remove and backup) and click OK. To save yourself some time, you can select Perform action with all infections and then click OK. With the option to scan every file, a lot of cookies will be removed.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

    • Click Save report
    • Save the report to your desktop or anyplace you will be able to find it to upload here.
Reboot into normal mode and reconnect to the internet.

Come back here and post the Ewido Scan Report along with a fresh HJT log.

Sorry for the delay-I have been very busy. Here is the spy sweeper scan and the fresh HJT log. Also, is it necessary for me to keep ewido suite (downloaded from the last post)? It seems to slow things down (I now have Norton, Microsoft antispyware, and ewido suite running simultaneously at all times). Thank you.

Please look in Add or Remove Programs for the following and Uninstall them if found:

    Ewido

    Spy Sweeper

Now scan with HijackThis and Check the Boxes for the following:

Make sure All Browser Windows are Closed when you Click FIX.

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = https://webct.uga.edu
(If you know this site you can leave this one)

    O2 - BHO: TChkBHO Class - {04E80631-E66E-4264-9EB4-8786220E6643} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\wqyjkiu.dll (file missing)

    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)

Again, make sure All Browser Windows are Closed when you Click FIX.

    NEXT:
Run CCleaner to clean up cookies and temp files.

Run full scans with Ad-Aware SE & Spybot S&D and have both programs fix what they find.
Note: Remember to get all updates before doing the scans.

Then, as an added precaution, Go to Start > Run and type: cleanmgr and then click OK. Make sure the boxes for these are checked:
    Temporary Files
    Temporary Internet Files
    Recycle Bin

    And Click OK.

After you complete the above, reboot and let me know how things are running.

I completed the steps, and here are the results:

I removed ewido, but I was unable to remove spy sweeper- After trying to uninstall from "add or remove programs" I received the message "C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\unins000.dat" file is corrupted. Cannot uninstall.

As far as the rest of my system goes, I am still having the same major issues that I was experiencing before (reference to my original post). Specifically, I will describe exactly what occured after I completed the final steps and rebooted:

I attempted to print a document from Word. I received the message "printer has not yet communicated with Microsoft Word. Would you like Word to continue attempting to communicate?"

After I clicked No, Word froze. I then closed Word using the task manager, and reopened it to try again. On the second try, Word froze again before I even had a chance to attempt to print (it froze while I was typing a test document).

After I closed Word again, I attempted to go into toolbar>printers and faxes to see if the suspicious printer drivers were still present (see original post for explanation). Like before, my toolbar froze as soon as I clicked on "printers and faxes."

Lastly, I still seem to be having some problems with slow booting (the same problem as in my original post; numerous clicks on restart before the computer will reboot). Most of the time, I have to end several programs manually (by clicking "end now") that are running in the background and are not responding before my system will reboot.

I really appreciate all the help you have provided me so far. I really do not know what to do next to remedy this problem. In the mean time, I will attempt to uninstall and reinstall my printer driver to see if that does anything. Thank you.

Attach a fresh HJT log from normal mode, this is most likely going to be software related in which case I recommend posting this in the software forum. Those guys can assist you with the printing issues.
