Debugga the what now?

-Having problems with virus. Pretty sure I got rid of it and was having problems with Windows, so I installed SP4. Everything seemed fine........

-Cleaned spyware, defrag, standard tune up, then installed new 3.5 ATI drivers.

CS and SOF2 play fine but every time I try and start BF I get the error below.
Yes, I have the 1.4 update, and I cant play any of the mods.

I have un-installed BF including the reg. entries but I still get this problem. Anyone have any ideas?

What the hell is a "debugger" anyways?

 

A debugger is a program that you use to modify source code with to remove any bugs from the program. And that's a bit wierd, "A debugger has been detected", weird message,

after doing some googling I found:

search for a file on your system called AMDFIX.SYS .. rename it to AMDFIX.OLD

try disabling the splash screen to the Audigy Control panel start up.

 

The only OS that has a SP4 Windows 2000 PRO.

 

Um, nothing comming up. Yes, I did search hidden files.

 

I'm still not having any luck.


Maybe when I deleted the virus it deleted a file I needed to play BF?

If no one has anymore ideas I'll repair windows I guess.

 

hi hasselbadd now dont quote me on this but i believe bf1942 uses safedisc 2 protection which certain versions blacklist many apps like cd copying software and debuggers which are used to hack the protection and create no-cd cracks are you using any software like this im not an ubergeek but these programs are for reading binary data etc
maybe the update has blacklisted an app you have so you could either try playing the game before patching or depending how you see such things get the relevant no-cd crack for the version you have and try that (im not condoning this but could be useful for troubleshooting)
just a thought could be way off the mark but worth a try!

I wasn't using a patch before all this happened, but just now I went and got the no-cd patch and everything works fine

It's a legit copy I own, I really don't understand why applying a no cd patch would fix things.

 

guess it was the safedisc 2 as by using a no-cd you remove the checks for blacklistited apps
anyway glad your set now go and win the war your country needs you!
