Decent 'Free' Java IDE???

Not JPad , NetBeans or Eclipse...

Anywhere that a 'Free' decent Java IDE can be downloded by a poor student?

I've been waiting for the email from jcreator for almost 2 days now...
Can't install without the email it says...

I downloaded eclipse but I can't get it to install correctly. It keeps telling me that it can't find Java but I was able to compile & run with JPad until the java source got too big and I could no longer save the the file.

And this is on the second homework assignment. We haven't even got to the more complicated stuff yet.

How do you change/add to the PATH in Win XP????

 

Right click on 'My Computer' select 'Prperties'; click on teh 'Advanced Tab', click the 'Environment Variables' button. Locate Path in 'System Variables', click on Edit.

I have the Netbeans IDE but ti is a little advanced for someone new to Java. Eclispe tends to he hard to install.

I found how to set the PATH but that did not help with the Eclipse install.

I finnaly found a doc on setting the -vm parameter for Eclipse in a shortcut pointing to the .exe and that worked and I got it installed.

Damn - this Eclipse is way more complicated than JPad - I just want to 'Compile' then 'Run'...

I tried the NetBeans that came with the text book bit was obscure as hell!!!

Still no email on the jcreator....

Nothing ever comes easy, eh?
